Asia Whs&e Lead

Job Summary:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Workplace Health Safety & Environment (WHS&E) professional who is committed and proactive in leading and driving business excellence within Asia, with priority in the Customer Service function.

This role entails liaison with all levels in the organisation, from sales, engineering, project & installation through to service functions. The role will also be required to be involved in frequent business travel between Singapore and other parts of Asia, predominantly Korea to begin with.

You will be a key team member within the business to actively develop, maintain and improve WHS&E in the region that meets the requirements of ISO45001 & ISO14001 management systems, and KION & Dematic minimum standards.

Tasks and Qualifications:
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Drive activities relating to ISO45001 safety system & ISO14001 environment standards requirements, standardise documentations for functional WHS&E deliverables
- Facilitate & lead ISO45001 & ISO14001 management systems audit with certification body
- Ensure that ASIA management functions are aware of and compliant with WHS&E legislative requirements in the region
- Ensure statutory and Dematic WHS&E training compliance across the region - where required develop and deliver Dematic specific training packages
- Ensure thorough onboarding and induction of personnel into the safety training systems and processes
- Implementation of a WHS&E auditing schedule and completion of audits to that schedule - engage with others to assist.
- Ensure Incident and Injury management processes have been implemented and suitable action implemented to prevent re-occurrence
- Review legislative changes and investigate and advise required system updates that impact Dematic
- Establishing and maintaining a hazard register for the Dematic ASIA business and for ensuring that controls are developed and implemented.
- Regular reporting of WHS&E performance to the executive management and the Safety steering committee.
- Provide support to the ASIA Safety Committee and ensure that the committee is functioning effectively.
- Implementing and managing contractor management processes to ensure that all subcontractors meet statutory requirements
- Develop, maintain and communicate all WHS&E related documentation - manuals, procedures, safe work method statements and forms to the Asia teams
- Coach and Mentor Dematic personnel on what good safety culture looks like and the benefits of that safety culture for them
- Champion & help others improve WHS&E processes via continuous improvement programs
- Assist the ASIA Quality, EHS Business Process Improvement Lead with other quality tasks and support in their absence.

What we are looking for
- WSQ Specialist Diploma and/or KOSHA certification in Workplace Safety and Health is a minimum
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) would be desirable
- Minimum 6 years of full experience in Safety (EHS) role is mandatory
- Hands-on experience implementing safety systems according to ISO45001 or OHSAS18001 and Environmental systems to ISO14001 standards
High level of competency implementing risk management programmes - risk identification and mitigation
- Experience with the construction, installation and ongoing servicing of complex plant and equipment would be highly regarded
- Extensive experience in completing Incident investigations, Auditing of WHS&E systems and conducting site inspections/evaluations
- Qualified & experienced to train personnel in safety areas e.g. - Risk Management, Incident & Injury Reporting
- Knowledge of implementing and managing contractor management processes
- Fire Safety Manager (FSM) certification
- Internal Auditor Competency - ISO45001/OHSAS 18001
- Industrial Safety Engineer technical qualification would be highly regarded
- Must be fluent (advanced level) in spoken & written English
- Experience in ISO9001 quality systems will be well regarded
- Business travel will be required for this position
