The TD lab Hair Team has an immediate opening for a Research Officer investigating hair properties and the skin microbiome.

We have an immediate opening for work with collaboration with the A*STAR ISCE2 Encapsulation IAF-PP team, which endeavours to study basic human hair structure and the deposition of capsule and particle technologies on human hair.

As this is a new research area, enthusiasm and agility will be required. You will need to quickly come up to speed on human hair biology, chemistry, and physics. As this position will require significant on the job training, we will entertain any applicants with strong lab skills, recommendations, curiosity, drive, and the desire to work on translational materials/projects in the beauty/hair care FNCC sector.

The TD lab is also deeply involved in the study f the human skin mycobiome, so cross-training and work will be strongly encouraged.

**Job Role**:

- Conducting controlled experiments on human hair switches
- Defining the surface properties of hair
- Examining the deposited materials by scanning electron microscopy, electrokinetic analysis, and/or other methods
- Extracting materials deposited on the hair for analysis
- Other administrative duties as and when required

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in any related sciences with background in materials science or chemistry
- At least 1 year of lab experience
- Versatile, open-minded with a strong desire to learn and solve problems
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and meticulous
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
