JOB DESCRIPTION:
**Responsibilities**:

- Leading all Commercial Legal matters in the APAC Region, for all business units, by interacting directly with internal stakeholders (i.e. Legal team members, commercial teams, tax, finance, etc.) and with externals (i.e. external lawyers, suppliers, clients, etc.) to help deliver on the business objectives of the company
- Identifying, monitoring and advising upon legal risks within the areas of responsibility and acting as Legal lead for Strategic Projects across APAC Region, ensuring effective development of those Projects
- Provide active support on contract requirements by the Sourcing and Sales teams by reviewing, drafting and negotiating all type of commercial agreements in order to document properly the relationship, obligations and responsibilities between HB and external parties.- Provide relevant legal education to the commercial teams in a variety of legal topics through trainings or material sharing to alert them on these legal topics that may have an impact on their strategies, objectives and regular interaction with external partners.- Active Legal lead in Strategic Key Projects for the APAC Region, to provide early guidance on legal implications, requirements, and risk assessments.
- Advice and support on material disputes and litigations in APAC, coordinating with external local lawyers when needed and with the Head of Litigations & Insurance and rest of Litigation & Insurance team members.- Support on Insurance related matters in the APAC Region, coordinating with the Insurance team- Support on Compliance incidents and investigations in the APAC Region, coordinating with the GRC Director and the rest of the GRC team.- Manage team member/s and supervision of the work performed by the APAC Legal Advisor/s- To review and reshape the current ways of working aligning with the fast-paced & evolving environment of HB, by improving, simplifying, and designing HB contract templates, guidelines, and scalable processes/protocols jointly with relevant stakeholders.
- A law degree from a reputable institution
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in similar or related roles- Business level of proficiency in English.- Advanced Excel & Power Point skills required
- Previous experience working as an inhouse counsel in a multinational company and dealing with APAC and China legal matters
- Previous experience dealing with Litigations
- Previous experience working within a team as well as leading team, training direct reports and inspiring high levels of employee engagement
- Previous experience working with companies within the tourism industry
