Metrologist/manager, Optical and Dimensional

1. Maintenance and quality assurance of national measurement standards in length and dimensional areas.
2. Establishment of international equivalence of length and dimensional measurement capabilities through participation in measurement comparisons.
3. Achieving international recognition for calibration and measurement capabilities in length and dimensional areas through peer-reviews by external experts; and undertaking peer-reviews of other national metrology institutes as a domain expert.
4. Dissemination of the national length and dimensional standards and measurement technologies to the industry through calibration and measurement services and R&D in metrology.
5. Developing new measurement solutions, and building new metrology capabilities and services based on emerging needs of the industry; and developing programmes to enhance technical competencies of lab personnel.
6. Raising measurement capabilities of industry by conducting consultancies, training and proficiency testing in length and dimensional measurements.
7. Supervision of students and trainees from industry under attachment programmes.
8. Conducting technical assessments under Singapore Accreditation Council-Singapore Lab Accreditation Scheme, and training of new technical assessors.
Job requirements
Bachelor degree in Engineering or Physics.
2. 0 to 3 years of experience.
