**Job Description (Key Responsibilities)**:

- Lead the design and development of advanced engineering solutions, products, or systems.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to a team of engineers, designers, and other technical staff.
- Define design specifications and ensure that design work adheres to industry standards and company requirements.
- Review and evaluate technical designs and provide feedback for improvements.
- Manage the design process from concept to implementation, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Work closely with project managers to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate with other teams (manufacturing, quality control, testing) to ensure seamless integration and execution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, manufacturing, and marketing) to ensure the product meets customer needs and market requirements
- Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and decision-making processes to evaluate potential design alternatives
- Ensure that designs meet all regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
- Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation of designs to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Resolve design-related issues during testing and production.

**Job Requirements & Person Specification (Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Behaviours)**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required (or equivalent certification based on location).
- 10+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience in leading complex projects, with a track record of delivering successful projects on time and within budget.
- Strong expertise in one or more areas of civil engineering, such as transportation, water resources, site development, or structural systems.
- Advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles, design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation), and project management tools.
- In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements and codes.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Experience with environmental impact assessments, sustainability initiatives, and LEED certification is a plus.
