Primary Purpose of the Role:
Singapore Gymnastics seeks an ambitious physiotherapist to assist the High Performance Team in implementing and delivering a highly functioning and visionary athlete centric monitoring system. This role carries responsibility around the primary support and management for athletes in the National Training Centre (NTC). This is a senior management role.

The primary purpose of this role is to support the High Performance Team by enhancing athlete performance through monitoring the health and wellbeing of athletes, coordinating the sports science and sports medical (SSSM) support team, implementing intervention mechanism to reduce injury and ensure maximisation of training hours for athletes in the high performance pathway at the National Training Centre, while overseeing the Injury Management Protocol and the ”Return to Training” programme.

There are four main purposes for monitoring athletes:
1. optimizing readiness,

2. ensuring proper prescription of stress and recovery (periodization),

3. reducing injury risk, and

4. monitoring safe and effective return to training and competition programme.

The Athlete Performance Manager will identify, support and develop a monitoring system that underpins a World Class services to the individual athletes in SG’s high performance pathway.

Athlete monitoring is standard practice for maximizing athlete performance, reducing injury risk, and optimizing competition readiness. For High Performance Programs, monitoring load-performance and load-injury relationships are essential for providing insight into how athletes are responding to stresses incurred during and outside of training and competition. Ultimately, how an athlete performs is impacted by the accumulation of stress and the efficacy of training.

Applicants should have demonstrable experience of working within a performance sport environment, and interacting effectively with high level athletes, coaches and service providers. You will be a dynamic individual, with first class administrative, numeric and communication skills. The ability to work seamlessly across a range of competing priorities is a further requirement of this role, as well as having clear understanding of performance pathways in Singapore. Applicants will be expected to work flexibly under mínimal supervision, plan/prioritise well and play a key role in a High Performance Sport culture of Singapore Gymnastics.

The Athlete Performance Manager will develop strong working relationships with Programme Managers, National Head Coaches, the National Coaches, National Youth Sports Institute (NYSI), Singapore Sports Institute (SSI) and any/all agencies/organisations who may enhance the service offered to individual athletes through support, advice, knowledge, programmes etc.

**Responsibilities**:
Leadership
- Openly share and distribute information which is relevant
- Promote and support SG programs, regulations and policies at all times
- Ensure the GM and relevant staff are briefed on key events, projects, and key issues
- Produce high quality and professional correspondence, documentation and reports
- Contribute to a positive organisational culture which is focused on delivering results and excellence in service provision

Physiotherapy Support
- Oversee and manage the physiotherapy services to the NTC athletes offered by the NYSI & SSI physiotherapist with, weekly on-site attendance at the gym during training sessions
- Attendance at all selection events
- Medical clearance of athletes prior to departure

Athlete Monitoring
- Lead and manage the planning, development and delivery of critical programmes, activities and events to individual athletes around load management, injury recording, injury management and “Return to Training” programme in consultation with the High Performance Team
