**Requirements**:
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following experience, knowledge and skills:

- Degree in any discipline from a good institute or ACII or FCII
- More than 5 years of working experience in the insurance industry in Singapore as an Underwriter
- Analysis/risk assessment skill ability: gather and analyse pertinent information
- Meticulous and analytical
- Strong business acumen to understand economic and business models and good understanding of local developments
- Team player with ability to multi-task
- Demonstrates effective verbal, written and listening communication skills
- Communication, negotiation, customer service and relationship building skills
- Bond underwriting experience in insurance or reinsurance industry will be an added value

Job description

The successful applicant will:

- Underwrite bond and construction (CAR & EL) business within underwriting rules & guidelines and 4 eyes principle
- Gathers, reviews, and analyses all necessary underwriting information to conduct proper risk selection
- Underwrite and monitor accounts with producers
- Experience working within time constraints to turnaround quotes to business in timely manner
- Develop and support growth of Commercial (e.g., immigration, custom bonds) and Contract bond business
- Develop and support new channels and target/diversify key bond producers
- Develop and maintain strong working relationship with producers and reinsurers
- Responsible for Facultative Reinsurance Inward/Outward bond transactions
- Responsible for data accuracy on Quarterly Bordereaux Bond Reporting
- Production of bond business and achieve a profitable book of business
- Support bond initiatives
- Brokers’ channel - relationship management and business development for assigned brokers
- Any other duties from time to time assigned by Management or CUO
