**Role Purpose**

The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in shipping is a key member of the executive team, responsible for developing and executing the company's commercial strategy to achieve revenue growth, profitability, and market share targets.

The CCO is accountable for leading the sales and marketing functions, ensuring that they are aligned with the company's goals and objectives. They are responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining customer relationships, and driving customer satisfaction.

The CCO also plays a critical role in managing the company's pricing and revenue optimization strategies, including monitoring market trends, analyzing customer behavior, and optimizing pricing and product offerings to maximize profitability.

**Role Accountabilities**
- Developing and Implementing Commercial Strategy: The CCO is responsible for developing and implementing the company's commercial strategy. This includes analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities for growth, and creating a roadmap to achieve the company's business objectives.
- Sales and Marketing: The CCO oversees the sales and marketing teams and is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. They develop and implement marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness, generate leads, and drive sales. They work closely with the sales team to ensure that customer needs are met and that revenue targets are achieved.
- Pricing and Revenue Optimization: The CCO is responsible for developing and implementing pricing and revenue optimization strategies. They monitor market trends, analyze customer behavior, and optimize pricing and product offerings to maximize profitability.
- Customer Relationship Management: The CCO is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers. They work closely with the customer service team to ensure that customer needs are met, and that customer satisfaction is maintained at a high level. They use customer feedback to drive continuous improvement in the company's products and services.
- New Business Development: The CCO identifies and pursues new business opportunities, including new markets, product lines, and partnerships. They work closely with the executive team to assess the feasibility of new opportunities, and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
- Reporting and Analysis: The CCO provides regular reporting and analysis on sales and marketing performance, market trends, and customer feedback. They use this information to inform strategic decision-making and to ensure that the company is meeting its commercial objectives.
- As MD of Swire Projects
- oversee the formulation and successful execution of a MPP strategy to position the business as a relevant and high-quality operator to the renewable and energy industry.
- build a well-comprised and competitively structured team of MPP specialists with the right supporting infrastructure, systems and processes.
- develop an operating strategy and commercial plans that define where Swire Projects can secure its best performance premiums
- foster long-term industrial relationships with key customers, project operators and cargo interests
- develop a business case to scale and grow the business from a tonnage point of view including Time Charters and New Building opportunities

**People Management**
- Lead employees to meet the organisation's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment.
- Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the team in accordance with the organisation's policies and procedures.
- Plan staffing levels and work with Human Resources to recruit, interview, select, hire, and employ the right people within budgetary guidelines.
- Coach, mentor and develop staff, including overseeing new employee onboarding and providing career development planning and opportunities.
- Consciously create an engaging workplace culture that emphasizes the identified mission, vision, guiding principles, and values of the organisation.
- Lead employees using a performance management and development process including goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning.
- Empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals. Delegate responsibility, drive accountability and provide regular feedback for continuous improvement.
- Manage and maintain effective employee work schedules including assignments, job rotation, training, vacations and paid time off, cover for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.
- Deliver key people related activities in conjunction with HR that will lead to the enhanced engagement and retention of team members.
