- The primary function of this role is ‘hands on’ bid and proposal management to ensure that high quality bid and proposal responses are prepared and delivered in line with the customer’s stipulated requirements / timescales, and that the process of defining, planning and preparing the response follows AVEVA’s Bid/Proposals Management procedures. The Bid Manager will be responsible for evaluating and assessing proposal requests, coordinating the bid decision process, establishing and briefing the Bid Response Team, planning and coordinating proposal preparation and assisting Sales in final review and approval of the response prior to submission.
- The role requires a committed team player who is experienced in working with multi-cultural teams, across multiple time zones and with resources drawn from across a matrixed organization. The Bid Manager will possess strong written and verbal Japanese skills as well as the ability to deliver clear and concise presentations to internal and external audiences. The Bid Manager is expected to have a good command of English in both writing and speaking.
- Principal Accountabilities:
- Responsible for managing requests from Asia Pacific customers assigned to them and ensuring that appropriate responses are prepared and submitted on time and in line with AVEVA’s Bid/Proposals Management procedures
- Organizes and facilitates the bid/no-bid decision process. Collects input from key stakeholders, summarizes the technical, logístical and contractual facets of the opportunity and highlights / articulates associated risks
- Works with management stakeholders to establish the cross functional Bid Response Team consisting of Account Managers, Technical Consultants, Industry SMEs, Product Managers, Delivery Managers, and/or System Engineers.
- Briefs the Bid Response Team on the response strategy, establishes responsibilities, and defines the activities, contributions and timescales needed to deliver the proposal response to the agreed schedule
- Coordinates the contributions of the Bid Response Team and helps compile the consolidated proposal response
- Guarantees high quality of proposals. This includes revising existing content, editing content provided by other team members, using and maintaining document styles and templates, and preparing final submission documents as per AVEVA’s Proposals standards
- Assists Sales in final proposal review and approvals by all required stakeholders based on AVEVA’s Sales Approval Policy
- Works, as requested, to continually improve processes and facilitate efficient proposal management
- Ensures AVEVA’s Proposal Management process is followed and that all proposal materials are managed and stored accordingly

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
- Minimum 5 years successful experience in preparing and managing technical and commercial proposals, ideally in an organization selling and delivering complex software solutions and services
- Educated to degree level typically in Computer Sciences, a relevant Engineering discipline, or Business
- Fluent English speaker. Other languages would be an advantage.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills in English. Able to structure and compose proposal documentation and summarize and present proposals and associated issues to internal stakeholders
- Extensive experience in using the Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Excel and MS Word.
- Knowledge of the AVEVA software portfolios or other similar Engineering/Industrial software is a plus
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work and collaborate with remote teams
