UWCSEA East has a vacancy for a Part-Time Teacher of Hindi for our Home Languages Programme (HLP) from November 2024.

The Home Languages Programme is for students who want to maintain a language spoken at home but who do not study this language as part of the academic curriculum during the school day at appropriate level.

The students’ ag es are from 4 to 1 8 years old. HLP classes are taught in small groups of 3 to 6 students of similar ag es and linguistic levels and will take place after school (or at lunchtime for some younger students).

Main Responsibilities
- Thoroughly plan, prepare and teach classes addressing the various levels of students in the class. (Differentiation)
- Exhibit excellent classroom management skills.
- Use digital resources to enhance students’ learning.
- Provide samples of students’ learning in the school online learning platform for parents to follow students’ progress.
- Provide feedback to parents, when required

- A commitment to diversity and inclusion is essential alongside a willingness to adapt and develop pedagogy to meet the needs of our learners.
- Contribute positively and collaboratively to the development of Tamil Language and Culture in the Home and Community Languages Programmes.
- Promote cultural exchange and cross-cultural understanding, and to embed Hindi customs, history and traditions in the lessons.
