**Role Description: Director, Media & Entertainment Sales - APAC**
**Role Purpose**:
The Director, Media & Entertainment Sales, APAC is responsible for growing Wasabi sales and market share in the M&E sector in the region. Primary responsibilities include working with existing VAR/MSP channel partners and Technology Alliance Partners to deliver media workflow solutions and drive revenue. The Director will also recruit and activate new channel and TAP partners, develop sales strategies and execute demand generation campaigns. The role further involves direct sales to prospective customers across all sectors of M&E including studios, post houses, broadcast networks, VFX/Virtual/Animation shops, HOW, Corporate Video, Pro and D1 Sports, gaming, etc.
This is a hunter role requiring the calling on new prospects and qualified prospects to have them adopt Wasabi’s next-generation hot storage. The Director must have a solid understanding of the role of storage in media operations, be well acquainted with media production workflows, and maintain relationships with Technology Alliance Partners servicing the digital workflow. The Director must be able to penetrate large media organizations, uncover and qualify the storage needs, identify decision makers and buying timelines of prospects, and drive those prospects to evaluation and purchases of Wasabi.
- This is a remote role with preference for location in Hong Kong, Singapore, Sydney or Tokyo.
**Responsibilities**:
- Achieve annual revenue targets through both channel and direct sales in the M&E sector.
- Prospect and evangelize Wasabi’s value proposition to enterprise customers in concert with our channel partners.
- Recruit, onboard, and activate new, qualified VARs and Managed Service Providers.
- Develop inspired understanding of Wasabi’s disruptive hot cloud storage solution within partner sales teams.
- Conduct regular sales training and business planning sessions including QBRs with channel partners.
- Establish and maintain joint partner planning processes that develop mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones associated with a productive partner relationship.
- Foster excellent communication internally and externally, and in adherence to channel rules of engagement.
- Leverage marketing automation and CRM tools to rapidly isolate ideal partner and end-user prospects and systematically track activity and forecast opportunities.
- Represent Wasabi at industry events, promote Wasabi in interactions with thought leaders in the M&E space and contribute to the development of best practices that involve cloud in media creation, distribution and preservation.
**Requirements**:
- Track record of regularly achieving sales quotas or managing operations budgets.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud.
- Extreme discipline in planning, setting goals, and following up.
- Ability to work collaboratively with employees within the sales function and across functions including Marketing, Sales Operations, System Engineering, and Product Development.
- Self-starter, passionate about achieving success.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
- Creative team player with a willingness to make positive suggestions to further the team’s success.
- Enthusiastic about the challenge of working at a hyper growth start-up.
- Prior experience with SFDC or other CRM platforms.
