Mechanical Design Engineer: Designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging. Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.

Standard BioTools is looking for Senior/Lead Engineer, Mechanical reporting to the Director, Validation to join the Hardware, R&D Team in the Singapore Plant.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Take the leading role to facilitate the transition of a New Instrument from initial concept into volume production, utilizing Solidworks PDM as the primary design tool.- Identify and plan improvement actions to for Production Productivity, Product Cost and User Experience.- Carry out qualification in a structured manner to enable implementation of solution on a life-science equipment.- Complete documentation of design solution and ensures that documentation is sufficient for production and field implementation.- Work with vendors to ensure parts specifications are sufficient to meet Standard Biotool’s product requirements.- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters or Degree in Mechanical or Electronics Engineering.- 5 to 6 year experience in a mechanical design environment, using Solidworks PDM system.-
- Experienced in new product introduction of systems comprising precision optical, pneumatics and motion controls.- Experience in ISO 13458 would be an advantage.- Working knowledge in the implementation of deep learning in problem solving.- Self-driven and work with little or no supervision.- Strong communication skills and good in teamwork.
