**Job Overview**:
The Layout Engineer is responsible for designing and optimizing the general arrangement and layout of FPSO topsides, hulls, and related systems. This role ensures that all layouts meet project specifications, safety standards, and operational efficiency, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve seamless integration of systems.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Design and Optimization**:Develop and optimize layout designs for FPSO topsides, modules, and hull structures.
Ensure designs comply with safety, operability, and maintainability requirements.
- **Multidisciplinary Coordination**:Collaborate with piping, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process teams to integrate systems into cohesive layouts.
Resolve layout clashes and ensure effective utilization of available space.
- **Compliance and Standards**:Ensure all layouts adhere to project specifications, industry codes, and regulatory standards (e.g., ABS, DNV, API).
Incorporate fire safety, explosion protection, and evacuation criteria into designs.
- **Review and Validation**:Conduct design reviews and model walkthroughs to validate layouts and address design issues.
Use 3D modeling software (e.g., AVEVA E3D, AutoCAD) to produce accurate and detailed layouts.
- **Reporting and Documentation**:Prepare layout drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Generate reports highlighting design progress and any potential risks or deviations.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- **Education**:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or related field).
- **Experience**:Minimum of 10 years in layout engineering for FPSO or offshore oil and gas projects.
Familiarity with topsides, hull integration, and module design.
- **Skills**:Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., AVEVA E3D, PDMS, AutoCAD).
Strong knowledge of offshore layout design standards and regulations.
Excellent problem-solving and coordination skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with FPSO conversion projects.
- Knowledge of weight control and material handling strategies in offshore environments.
- Certification in offshore safety and engineering practices.
