The Research Officer will join the Genetics of Host Immunity lab in A*STAR IDL, led by Principal Investigator Dr Chan Yi Hao, in our search for genetic and immunological determinants of life-threatening viral diseases. We are interested in how variants in human genes, or their immunological phenocopies, can predispose patients to severe viral diseases upon exposure to common, yet typically benign viruses. Better understanding of the cause and mechanism of disease that drive the clinical manifestations in patients can guide the development of targeted and effective therapeutic strategies against viral infections.

Perform immunoassays and viral infection assays.
Assist scientists in the laboratory for experiments.
Perform meticulous recordkeeping and able to draft delivery report to industrial partners.
Perform maintenance of inventory and procurement of laboratory consumables.
Ensure safe technical practices and procedures.
Training for the handling of BSL-3 pathogens will be provided.
**Job Requirements**:
Bachelor Degree in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Infectious Diseases, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry or related field.
1 to 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Experience with cell culture models, iPSCs, flow cytometry, serological, molecular and biochemical techniques, handling with BSL-2 and BSL-3 pathogens will be an asset.
Strong background in Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics and Genomics.
Experience in scientific software like SnapGene, Prism, FlowJo, etc.
Highly motivated and able to work independently.
Team player with good interpersonal skills.
Good spoken and written communication skills.
