We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Regional ESG DAO Lead **.

**Principal Responsibilities**

HSBC Data & Architecture Analytics Office (DAO) promotes a data-driven culture across HSBC through our strategy of:

- Protect: To protect our data we need robust policies for data management and enhanced governance e.g. data that is consumed from a trusted source, meets quality standards, and complies with regulatory obligations
- Connect: Move to a data-led culture through enhanced training including on the job opportunities. Our talent is the glue between protecting our data and unlocking value for our customers
- Unlock. Value is unlocked when we deliver on the opportunities our well-managed data presents e.g. improving customer / colleague experience, increasing revenue, commercialising our data, optimising capital, enhancing risk management or reducing costs. The Regional ESG DAO Lead supports the Unlock pillar of the strategy
- ESG data and analytics is an important enabler for the bank’s strategy to enable and achieve its ambitions. The ESG Data team sources and refines reusable data sets, whilst the ESG Analytics team identifies new opportunities to create value, delivers key insights through business intelligence, analytics and provides the expertise required to support delivery
- With the focus on Sustainability in our Group Strategy and the increasing amount of regulator interest in ESG, this role holder will be a key link to enable regions in their Sustainability and ESG journeys by being able to offer the ESG DAO products and services to meet their requirements

**Requirements**:

- Active in the wider industry with strong contacts and connections in both academia and commerce; an industry ‘voice’ within the ESG, Data, Analytics and insight space
- Data and analytics tools such as QlikSense, Python, Spark, and Hadoop ecosystem
- Track record of developing successful Business Intelligence and/or Analytics functions delivering actionable insight insights
- Track-record of developing and implementing strategy for growing evolving a new capability
- Track-record of managing deliveries of data heavy programmes of work.
- Track-record of leading multi-disciplined teams to deliver exceptional customer service and value
- Track-record of delivering ESG analytics within Financial Institutions
- Experience in delivering in a highly regulated environment
- Knowledge of MLOps and ML engineering pipelines preferable
- Active interest in issues and challenges pertaining to ESG Analytics and related topics
