**Overview
This role offers a unique opportunity to join Asia's premier global asset manager with a growing global footprint. We are currently in the process of further expanding our new Global Sustainable Investment team, after having more than doubled the resources in the last 12 months. We already have a strong track record in ESG, having, among others, joined the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative, set a net zero 2030 target and become one of the first Asian headquartered investors to have received the UK Stewardship Code signatory status. With the firm’s ambitious global growth plan in place, this role offers broad exposure, extensive responsibilities, and the opportunity to work with seasoned ESG specialists from across regions.

The role also includes engagement with our client facing teams to enhance how we communicate with our clients and prospects as well as collaboration with Product Department to shape new sustainable products.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Play an integral role in defining the firm’s regional EMEA response to the evolving ESG regulatory landscape (including EU SFDR & Taxonomy, U.K. Stewardship Code, MIFID, U.K. Green Financing).
- Create, coordinate & manage an ESG regulatory roadmap for EMEA.
- Work with Investment teams, other COO teams, and global stakeholders to ensure that requirements are fully understood, scoped and delivered.
- Provide expertise on ESG matters, and how the COO functions can facilitate our response to the evolving regulatory, market and client requirements.
- Collaborate with Product Department to shape product upgrades and new sustainable products and related frameworks.
- Lead our internal working group on SFDR product upgrades and related work streams.
- Participate in regional industry forums to extract best practices for internal sharing and training.
- Propose, scope, and delivery initiatives as required.
- Initiate and manage cross-collaborations to advance the firm’s ESG objectives.
- Support the successful implementation of the firm’s overall ESG investment strategy.
- Involvement in wider initiatives within the COO and Global Sustainable Investment team remit as required.

**Knowledge and Skills

**Experience and Qualification**
- Minimum 6 years (preferably more) of work experience in ESG/sustainability, with strong preference for exposure to institutional clients on ESG investing topics
- Educated to degree level or equivalent with strong academic credentials
- Ideally 3 + years of work experience in ESG topics as they relate to asset managers. Preference for buy side experience at a sizeable investment management organisation, or similar
- Demonstrated expertise of issues around ESG and sustainability and how it impacts the overall financial services market, the asset management sector, clients and services
- Familiarity with ESG data sets and ESG ratings providers
- Track-record of balancing multiple stakeholders, building consensus, and delivering results
- Successful experience managing project teams in a dynamic and changing environment
- Comfort conducting analysis of regulatory change and the impact on the various processes and services of an asset manager
- Understanding of the Compliance and Risk landscape and how these interact with Regulatory Change for ESG
