**_Job Description Summary_**
**Overview**: As a Vehicle Homologation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our vehicles comply with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements in the markets where they are sold. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive regulations, standards, and certification processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and regulatory affairs, to ensure that our vehicles meet all necessary homologation and certification standards.
**_Key Job Accountabilities_**
- **Regulatory Compliance**:
- Stay abreast of current and upcoming automotive regulations, standards, and certification requirements globally.
- Interpret and communicate regulatory requirements to internal teams.
- Ensure that vehicle designs and modifications comply with local, regional, and international standards.
- **Certification Process**:
- Manage the entire homologation and certification process for new and existing vehicle models.
- Collaborate with external testing agencies and regulatory bodies to facilitate the approval process.
- Prepare and submit required documentation for regulatory approvals.
- **Testing and Validation**:
- Plan and coordinate vehicle testing activities to validate compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Analyze test results and work with engineering teams to address any non-compliance issues.
- Develop and maintain testing protocols to ensure ongoing compliance.
- **Cross-Functional Collaboration**:
- Work closely with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to integrate regulatory requirements into the product development process.
- Collaborate with regulatory affairs professionals to navigate the complex landscape of regional and global regulations.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of homologation and certification processes.
- Generate reports for internal and external stakeholders detailing compliance status and any necessary corrective actions.
- **Continuous Improvement**:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in the homologation and certification workflow.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in vehicle homologation.
**_Required Qualifications & Experience_**
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in vehicle homologation, certification, or regulatory affairs within the automotive industry.
- In-depth knowledge of global automotive regulations and standards (e.g., FMVSS, ECE, CCC).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
