**LOCATION**: Home-based - with periodic travel to our Crayford / Consett Laboratories.

**WORKING PATTERN**: Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours per week

**Responsibilities**

The Finance Manager is responsible for many aspects of finance work, including:

- delivery of detailed management accounts to tight deadlines on a monthly basis;
- ownership of data held in Group tools such as consolidation, IFRS16 tool, and the intercompany matching process;
- regular liaison with management on divisional performance;
- continuous management of financial systems to ensure the appropriate levels of control are in place and any enhancements are tested and implemented according to the project plan;
- support capital expenditure appraisals, make or buy modelling and generation of NPV calculations
- ownership of all balance sheet accounts to ensure integrity and reconciliation of all balances
- be the main point of contact for the testing phase of the financial audits by external auditors;
- provide financial guidance to the business managers where appropriate;
- Providing advice and best practice for developing the finance systems within the company
- maintaining accounting records and preparing management accounts and information for the company;
- assist with data collection for the preparation of annual financial statements;
- preparing forecasting and budget information;
- assist with data collection for corporation tax pack compilation;
- prepare and submit the quarterly VAT returns to HMRC
- managing part of the team including the management of the transactional team to close the ledgers and report on KPIs
- other ad-hoc tasks as required

The Financial Manager shall report directly to the Finance Director

**Qualifications required to do this role**:
Newly Qualified or Finalist Level ACA, ACCA or CIMA, Part qualified will be considered but only with a good level of relevant and demonstrable working experience in a similar role

**Experience required to do this role**:
Minimum 3 years experience of financial and management accounting.

Previous experience supporting the preparation of statutory accounts.

Previous experience of VAT and Tax submissions.

Technically able and up to date.
