Singapore Advanced Energy Industries, Inc Full time

Represents the material sourcing organization on new product development teams. Works with engineering and program management teams to develop material sourcing plans supporting product launch while influencing designs through DFx initiatives. Control material liability and constraints. Responsible for program material costs and delivery schedules from NPI through mass production line of sight cost at volume. Acts as the materials point-of-contact for the program team. Represents supply chain for all commodities (PCBA, Components, Sheet Metal and Machined Parts) in collaboration with global strategic Commodity teams.

**ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintains and communicates the following:

- Costs - Rolls up accurate material costs based on introductory and run-rate volumes. Maintains these costs for the product/program manager based on the most current bills of material. Identifies, understands, and articulates the cost drivers and cost changes. Drives toward material cost targets through the commodity and design teams.
- Inventory - Identifies program specific material liability and inventory. Prior to release and transfer to production, helps identify all non-useable inventory.
- Part Classification - Identifies cost drivers and potential cost reduction
- Part commonality/manufacturability - Identifies the program’s unique and re-usable material. Drives the engineering community to a single design. Facilitates new design manufacturability by seeking input from Supplier Quality Engineer and Suppliers and drives recommendations with engineering to make necessary changes on current and future designs.
- Develops and implements processes to ensure availability of products to customers worldwide
- Communicates plan changes to suppliers to ensure schedules are met while maintaining inventory and cost objectives.
- Participates in development of overall objectives and strategic goals for all aspects of the supply chain.
- Manages supplier relationships, including manufacturing sites, raw material suppliers, technical support and distribution network. Communicate production plans and ensure suppliers meet requirements. Establish and communicate measurement tool. Manage routine communication process.
- Works with the product/program manager to influence business decisions on material.
- Reviews Critical Engineering Changes (ECOs) and evaluates materials/supply chain impact. May be asked to facilitate change from Engineering into Operations.
- Acts as Material Lead on program specific cost reduction efforts. Works with product team to identify opportunities. Prioritizes and coordinates cost reduction opportunities with Engineering, Commodity Manager and Supplier Quality Engineer.
- Other duties as assigned.

**WORK ENVIRONMENT**:
Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment

**SKILLS**:

- Proven ability to develop strategic supplier relationships.
- Ability to communicate with all levels in an organization.
- Good working knowledge of Purchasing, Production Control and Supply Chain Management.
- Understanding of JIT, Kanban, Point of Use Replenishment, Kaizan, and Toyota/Lean Production System manufacturing practices.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum of five years of experience in Supply Chain Management in an electronics manufacturing environment.

**EDUCATION**:
**Essential**:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Supply Chain Management or Operations Management, or equivalent education and/or experience.
