This creative role has been developed to support The Walt Disney Company Publishing team in Asia Pacific (APAC). This involves creating and reviewing branded content as well as working collaboratively with teams of artists, editors, and digital content developers to ensure all creative properly align with Disney stories, sensitivities, and quality benchmarks.
The **Assistant Art Manager** should be an artist in his/her own right. We are looking for energetic and proactive, self-starters with the ability to produce quality branded content. One must possess the ability to work in a collaborative environment, be a strong advocate of our brands, and have excellent communication skills.
This role will report to Senior Manager, APAC Creative Publishing, with a functional reporting to VP, APAC & MENA of Publishing and Digital Experiences, and will have many touch points within the organisation.
**Responsibilities**:
- Generate impactful ideas and execute concepts that deliver and adhere to the brand vision and brand standards across different touchpoints such as print, learning, and digital
- Support the APAC Publishing Creative team on any day-to-day responsibilities
- Assist in providing commercial teams with creative solutions and other requirements such as pitch/presentations
- Review artwork and branded content for release to franchise stakeholders for final approval and asset delivery
- Liaise with internal Disney stakeholders and update progress
- Provide clear feedback to external production agencies and creative collaborators throughout the creative process, ensuring creative quality and adherence to Disney mandatories
- Manage assets and information flow to and from various creative partners and external agencies
**Requirements**:
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in extensive design, graphic and/or media
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in design, graphics, visual arts/communication, advertising or related field
- Ideally have a creative background in publishing, advertising agency or home entertainment company
- Strong illustration, design, or digital portfolio
- Proficiency in industry-standard programs and software (Macintosh hardware and OS software, Adobe Creative Suite - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. and other creative development software and associated file formats) and Microsoft Power Point and Keynote
- Experience working with multimedia storytelling preferred
- Experience in artwork curation is a plus
- Knowledge in 3D is also an advantage (preferably in Google SketchUp)
- Excellent skills in developing creative and innovative ideas and executing them in graphic format
- Exceptional eye for detail and passion for the Disney portfolio
- Equipped with excellent project management, analytic skills and proven ability to meet deadlines
- Broad range of design skill sets and experienced knowledge of trends, branding communications and digital content creation.
- Have a strong understanding of the digital space - beyond social media platforms
- Strong team player with enthusiasm, positive attitude, and the willingness to do what it takes to get the job done, which may include extended hours when necessary to meet deadlines.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
