Position: Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation Manager

**Reports To**:Lead Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation Manager

**Position Summary**

Providing support for all matters relating to Electrical, Instrumentation and Automation (EIA) along with Navcom issues for assigned fleet team. Assisting in management of the EIA functions to the company’s vessels to ensure that they are operated safely, cost effective and pollution free. Attending vessels for dry-dockings, project implementations, repairs, sea/gas trials and surveys as required by the company.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Treat safety and environmental compliance as a top priority.
- Ensuring that the activities pertaining to electrical, instrumentation, automation and Navcom aspects within Operations comply with all Company Management System, HSEQ and Maintenance Philosophy Policies.
- Representing Seapeak at Industry events and seminars when required.
- Carrying out research and establishment of relevant programs for use within the fleet.
- Monitoring and reviewing existing policy documents and submitting recommendations for change.
- Monitoring and advising of changes/proposals applicable to existing and new regulatory/legislative compliance items.
- Reviewing electrical, instrumentation, automation and Navcom work plans, including repair and conversion specifications, and conduct inspections to ensure that established maintenance and repair/replacement strategies are being followed.
- Participating in Vessels’ Risk Review preparation meetings that include monitoring of vessels’ performance, routine maintenance, critical spares levels, defect reports, dry dock and vessel inspection.
- Participating in HSEQ meetings advising on relevant areas and approving incident close
- outs.
- Ensuring that the Engineering Change Management process, pertaining to EIA Systems is adhered to.
- Acting as the primary contact for the Vessel Manager/Ship Team on relevant items, advising and troubleshooting on operational issues, when required.
- Developing and supporting assigned projects, assisting Ship Team with the implementation and completion of agreed CAPEX modification/upgrade items, monitoring implementation. Gathering feedback and making recommendations for upgrades to be included for future budgets.
- Managing assigned fleet team’s roving ETO scheduling and assignments.
- Assisting Marine HR with ETO technical interviews, briefing and familiarization for existing and new hire sea-staff. The identification and evaluation of relevant technical training courses. Providing feedback on the performance of ETOs to build a pool of high performing employees.
- Participating in daily Ship Team operations meetings, monitoring and assisting with any reported issues/defects as required.
- Monitoring and analyzing operational reports, identifying trends in equipment failures/defects, overdue maintenance, incidents, etc. Preparing summary reports and making recommendations to improve.
- Developing Fleet specific strategies and best practices for operating EIA systems on board.
- Managing assigned EIA projects including significant repairs, programs, investigations, processes, and meetings.
- Supporting New Building & Projects specification reviews. Selection and evaluation of EIA & Navcom makers and equipment’s. Study of new technologies for either new builds or retrofits on vessels. Developing design criteria for the EIA systems.

**Requirements**:

- Education and training as an electrical engineer.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical, instrumentation and automation systems.
- Knowledge and experience in the marine industry.
- Knowledge of technical operations.
- Familiar with current technology and industry regulations.
- Demonstrates teamwork, interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to respond positively to customers in an effective manner.
