Director, Research and Insights
About the role
This role is a leadership position role and are looking for a results-oriented, highly motivated and self-initiated individual. This individual must be flexible and have a “can-do” positive attitude and be passionate in selling the insights story to stakeholders. This person must also be able to work under a highly fluid environment with the industry evolving very rapidly.
**Job Description**:
There are 3 synergistic areas this role will cover: Insights, Data Analytics & Marketing Planning.
Insights:
- Build and execute a marketing insights roadmap aligning the business on areas of focus, identifying needs for marketing/product/policy improvements.
- Uncover insights & opportunities for the organization & specifically supporting marketing & product teams with industry, customer, competitor trends
- Experience in research design and methods (IDIs, focus groups, surveys, statistical analyses) with experience to project manage research studies (both qualitative & quantitative), conduct data analysis and data storytelling.
- Able to put together data from multiple sources to tell a story, leveraging research data and information to proactively identify business opportunities and gaining internal support to act upon these opportunities
- Organize cross functional / BU session and workshop to share findings, evaluate options, define potential solutions and build associated business cases.
- Managing external agencies for the execution of research projects.
Data Analytics:
- Leverage MC proprietary data sets to discover insights for business opportunities (travel, eCommerce etc). marketing strategies & programs.
- Turning data into compelling stories that help our business partners optimize opportunities.
- Guide analytic needs and have a foundational understanding of statistics (drivers & multivariate analysis, marketing mix models, multi touch attribution). Inform and guide experimental design and relevant measurement. Work with global insights & measurement leads for consistent methodologies and unified insights.
- Use multiple datasets (trackers, syndicated/social/behavioral data, and primary research) to develop business relevant conclusions and effectively communicate them to stakeholders, influencing marketing strategies, capturing local & regional needs & nuances.
- Support business functions with business cases & measurements.
Marketing Planning:
- Contribute strategically to marketing priorities, keep on the cutting edge of an evolving & innovative environment.
- Support marketing planning process across teams in APAC with close alignment with Global.
- Devising actionable marketing strategies from customer insights.
