Summary

This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). The incumbent provides advice and guidance to resolve, implement, or manage program or policy issues that involve major areas of complexity in approach, methodology and productivity of mission-oriented programs in OJJDP specific policy areas that have a direct impact on the lives of American Indian and Alaska Native youth.

Duties

As a Grants Management Specilist (Tribal Coordinator) you will be responsible for the following duties:
Plans, develops, and implements grant program/project development activities that affect broad mission areas related to Tribal Youth Justice.
Coordinates and collaborates with senior level management/programmatic staff of other OJP and DOJ offices on all comprehensive community-based and system development programs, with a particular emphasis on American Indian and Alaska Native youth.
Prepares reports and/or written analyses regarding OJJDP policies and positions on difficult or complex matters relevant to American Indian and Alaska Native youth.
Identifies and delivers professional responses to the fluctuating demands, needs, and trends of state and local law enforcement and justice systems and the role of OJJDP in supporting the field.
Provides expert guidance in the resolution of complex problems or issues impacting DOJ American Indian and Alaska Native programs, such as crosscutting OJJDP issues involving other DOJ components or federal agencies. Participates in the analysis of OJP-wide projects and programs. Coordinates with DOJ's Office of Tribal Justice.
Serves as an authoritative expert in analyzing legislation and developing standards, regulations, or policies that impact DOJ and OJP-wide programs involving American Indian and Alaska Native youth.
Acts as primary liaison with critical persons and groups both inside and outside of the agency, speaking for the principal on complex program issues involving American Indian and Alaska Native youth

Remote work is an arrangement in which an employee works at an approved alternative worksite (e.g., from home) that is at a location away from the agency worksite.
The residence is the full-time official duty location. The difference in salary is determined by the locality pay in each location.
US Citizenship Required. Applicants must also reside in the US.
Selectee(s) will be required to sign a Remote Work Agreement upon initial appointment and review/complete a new Remote Work Agreement every two years.

**Qualifications**:
**Specialized Experience**:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

**Examples of specialized experience include**:
Planned, developed, and implemented grant program/project development activities that affect broad mission areas related to Tribal Youth Justice.
Planned, directed, and executed liaison operations for critical grant programs, with national implications related to Tribal Youth Justice.
Prepared written analyses regarding policies and positions on difficult or complex grant matters relevant to American Indian and Alaska Native youth.
