Position Summary:
**Responsibilities**
Payroll Processing:
- Oversee and contribute to the end-to-end payroll processing for team members in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines, ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries, benefits, allowances, and deductions.
- Validate and process payroll data, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, overtime, and leave records.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate recording of payroll-related financial transactions and timely processing.
- Review and reconcile payroll reports, resolving discrepancies as necessary.
- Prepare payroll related journals for GL reporting.
- Year-end tax submission activities.
- Foster continuous improvement activities that provide alignment in the APAC Region.
Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:
- Stay up to date with local payroll legislation, tax regulations, and employment laws in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, such as tax withholdings, social security contributions, and other mandated deductions.
- Prepare and submit necessary payroll-related reports to relevant government authorities within specified deadlines.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Participate with auditors on payroll related matters.
Payroll System Management:
- Oversee the administration and maintenance of the payroll system, ensuring data integrity, system updates, and user access controls.Co
- Collaborate with HR Services department to implement system enhancements and resolve technical issues.
- Conduct regular system testing to identify and resolve any system or data anomalies.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Provide guidance and support to a direct report, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for professional growth.
- Facilitate training sessions to enhance the payroll knowledge and skills of team members.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring workload balance and efficient utilisation of resources.
Stakeholder Management:
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Finance, and other relevant stakeholders to address payroll-related queries and issues.
- Build effective working relationships with external vendors, such as payroll service providers, tax consultants, and government authorities.
- Ensure timely and accurate response to employee payroll inquiries, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Other duties as may be required from time to time to support business and operational success.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing, preferably across multiple countries (Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines).
- Strong knowledge of local payroll legislation, tax regulations, and employment laws in Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
- Experience with payroll systems and proficiency in using HRIS and payroll software. Chris21 or iChris is preferred but not essential.
- Attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels.
- Able to coach, supervise and lead the team.
- Problem solving and the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decision based on accurate and timely analyses.
- Intermediate Excel Skills.
- Sound English language skills / Good communication skills.
- Common courtesy and customer orientation.
- Ability to work flexible schedules and in various weather conditions as well as meeting minimum physical requirements of the job.
