- Mott MacDonald is a global engineering, management and development consultancy. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate Senior Water Resources & Flooding Engineer to join our growing Water team. This opportunity has arisen due to the forecast workload of a number of significant projects within Singapore, across South East Asia and from our wider global business.
- Our projects range in scale and complexity and generally drive innovative thinking in helping Clients achieve resiliency in water resources planning, design and management through the implementation of sustainable solutions, leveraging off our vast global experience. The successful delivery of these schemes will require collaboration across disciplines and our other sector teams in Singapore, and our global network.

The Opportunity
- In this exciting role, you will:

- Develop your leadership skills by providing technical mentorship to a team of water engineers.
- Provide technical advice, input and design in the development of bids and delivery of projects including: _Flood risk assessments; Flood modelling projects; Climate change assessments; Hydropower feasibility studies, including assessment of flow availability and flood flows._
- Have the opportunity to lead projects ranging from technical advisory to detailed designs as a technical lead or project manager.
- Represent MM to present and discuss technical options with key project stakeholders and clients.
- Drive thought leadership, and contribute to knowledge sharing across the region and our global water practice.
- Develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder/client relationships.
- Provide support in business development activities to support our water sector strategy.
- Engage in cross-sector initiatives to drive collaboration in business development and project delivery.
- About You
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in in hydrology, geography, mathematics, civil engineering, environmental engineering, or other related discipline.
- Chartered (or actively working towards) with an appropriate professional body.
- 8+ years of experience.
- Proven track record in areas such as: _Hydrological assessment including rainfall-runoff modelling and flood hydrology/Urban hydrology and flood risk assessment/Flood risk assessment in data-poor regions/Delivery of flood modelling projects/Climate change assessment including selection of allowances for flood model scenarios._
- Understanding of pluvial, fluvial, and coastal hydraulic modelling.
- Experience in GIS and hydrological/hydraulic modelling software.
- Ability to guide and mentor junior staff.
- Proven ability to independently write reports/proposals/specifications in formal English.
- Proven track record in delivering outputs to tight timeframes and within fixed budgets.
- The ability to work independently on projects ensuring delivery to scope, time, budget and quality requirement.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with clients, contractors and suppliers.
- Experience of using digital design tools and collaboration environments, or willingness to learn and use these tools on a regular basis.

Desirable experience:

- Flood risk and hydrological assessment in the South East Asia region.
- Flood mitigation options appraisal.
- Flood forecasting and early warning systems.
- Low flows hydrology and environmental flow assessment.
- Development of flood mitigation options including natural flood management / water sensitive urban design measures.
- Experience of utility authority design approval process (for e.g. Singapore PUB drainage/ABC waters, Hong Kong DSD or similar).
- Integrated urban drainage modelling and fluvial flood modelling in software packages such as TUFLOW, MIKE+ or InfoWorks ICM.
