What you will do:
As the medical authority for the country, you will maximize Amgen’s value of in-line & pipeline assets through leadership and delivery of medical/scientific activities across Amgen Therapeutic Areas.

Main Responsibilities

1) Provide medical and scientific leadership to region and country leadership team in order to shape and execute strategy
- Provide scientific/medical input into cross functional strategy, within the country Management Team
- Develop and lead execution of medical strategy
- Allocate, manage and be accountable for country Medical budget and resources
- In partnership with Country General Manager, ensure informed budget trade-offs
- Recruit, manage, develop, and retain industry-best Medical talent within the country
- Provide scientific/medical input into local regulatory/reimbursement/policy related documents and interactions
- Support the Global and Regional commercialization process, in partnership with Regional Medical Leads, to ensure an active flow of local medical insights and needs to the Regional and Global level

2) Lead Evidence Generation & Expanded Access to Amgen Medicines
- Lead the local evidence generation strategy and execution, including Investigator Sponsored Studies and Global Expanded Access Programs

3) Develop and execute local scientific communication and engagement strategy
- Establish Amgen’s reputation as a science-based and patient-focused partner
- Lead interactions with key external stakeholders as senior country medical representative
- Understand the expectations of key external stakeholders to support appropriate access to Amgen therapies
- Leverage local medical insights to best inform cross functional strategy

4) Lead local medical governance
- Support local risk management/minimization in collaboration with GRAAS

5) Support Global Study Operations
- Collaborate with Study Operations to ascertain Medical Feasibility for Amgen registrational studies, to support study initiation and study enrolment

What we expect of you:
Qualifications:

- Medical or Doctorate degree

**Experience**:

- 8 years of medical affairs, 5 years of which should be from a pharmaceutical or biotechnology company
- Broad people management & leadership experience

Knowledge:

- Pharmaceutical product development, product lifecycle and commercialization process knowledge with advanced understanding of other functions
- Therapeutic areas knowledge
- Knowledge of local pharmaceutical industry and legal/health system environment
- Finance/budgeting and resource management experience
- Track record of leadership
