**Director, Asia and Global High Net Worth Compliance**

This is a key role in supporting Manulife’s bold ambition to build a world class Global High Net Worth business. This position supports the administration and oversight of Manulife’s Global High Net Worth compliance program in Bermuda, Hong Kong and Singapore.

This individual will work with stakeholders across Manulife’s global footprint to prudently manage compliance risk appropriately, while still meeting frequent high-pressure deadlines to support month and quarter-end processes. At the same time, the incumbent will be expected to provide ongoing leadership to help better coordinate and streamline processes, identify process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement, and strategically influence stakeholders within and outside compliance to align around a common vision for GHNW processes and controls.

This position reports to the Deputy Global Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officer (CAMLO) and Head of Global High Net Worth Compliance, with a matrix reporting line to the Asia CAMLO.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provides assurance that the GHNW business is meeting both regulatory and internal Enhanced Due Diligence requirements;
- Works closely with Integrated Compliance Services EDD team, GIFS leaders, the Global CAMLO and their team and local market compliance teams lead to manage to ensure appropriate, risk-adjusted Enhanced Due Diligence reviews on high-risk customers;
- Partners with stakeholders within the lines of business to collect regular feedback on L1 and L2 process improvements and program enhancements, so as to continuously improve systems and controls;
- In partnership with testing functional teams, assists in the design and oversight of quality control reviews of L1 and L2 EDD processes, and ensure that any identified issues are escalated and remediated;
- Oversees and provide key metrices to the Asia Chief Compliance Officer, AMLCO and Global CAMLO for management reporting purposes;
- Oversees the FATCA and CRS programs of GHNW business is in complaint with the Asia and Global standards and practices; and
- Work with GHNW business unit CCOs to review and sign-off relevant projects and new business initiatives prior to launch, and maintains robust systems and processes to identify compliance risks and address the same.

**Job Requirements**
- Bachelor degree;
- At least 10 years working experience in progressively senior compliance, legal or risk management roles, including in financial crimes compliance;
- Deep and demonstrable understanding of AML/ATF risks in High Net Worth insurance;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin;
- Proficiency in Asia Segment working languages would be an asset;
- Strong stakeholder management and strategic influencing skills;
- Analytic mindset, with a strong sense of the importance of risk management processes;
- Aptitude and passion for technology and technological innovation in Compliance;
- Strong common sense and creative problem-solving abilities;
- A passion for diversity, equity and inclusion.

This position requires close working relationship with teams in Bermuda, Hong Kong, Singapore and Manila so occasional travel and regular evening and early morning calls will be required.

**Key Relationships**

This individual will work on a daily basis with market distribution, underwriting and compliance teams across Bermuda, Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as Global and Asia Compliance leadership, and EDD specialists within Global Forensic and Investigative Services (GIFS) and Integrated Compliance Services (ICS) teams.

They will often be called on to provide compliance opinion to senior leaders, including occasionally at the General Manager level.
