**Job Summary**:
The Student Support Officer is a dedicated professional committed to providing comprehensive support to students, addressing their academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Engage and check-in through home visits with high needs/ at risk students in timely and regular conversations.
- Be a positive role model to students
- Work closely with parents of high-needs/ risks* to organize programmes catering to them.
- High-needs/ risks in the following areas:
- Academic support
- SOcial/ Emotional
- Social Skills
- Vulnerability
- Behaviour/ Attendance
- Support after school engagement programme daily to ensure smooth operations.
- Constant updating of case summary notes of students engaged and complication of cases.
- Promptly update or highlight to Year Heads if there is/are any self-harm or suicide ideation case or any cases that required immediate attention
- Ensure the safe-keeping and confidentiality of such records and details
- Assist the Year Heads to liaise with external organisations, such as Family Service Centres, Community Centres, etc, in matters relating to dealing with high need and at-risk students
- Not make decisions on behalf of Year Heads but will forward the report, invitation or information to the Year Heads for further action
**Requirements**:
- Minimum GCE ‘A’ Level from a local junior college, diploma from a local polytechnic or degree in any field.
- Ability to provide academic support (English and/or Math) for students aged 12 to 17 years old
- Ability to connect and engage with students aged 12 to 17 years old
- Good interpersonal, planning, analytical and negotiation skills
- Ability to multitask, work independently and in a team
- Proficient with word processing and spreadsheet
