A sous chef will be the 2nd in command of the kitchen brigade. He will be the pair or eyes, hands and as well as ears in the kitchen. He/she will have the strong will to run the kitchen and take responsibilities of what going on in the kitchen. Poseesses a good leadership skills, culinary as well mentorship. Report’s to head chef day in and day out of the operations. Assistance to the head chef with creating or revamping menu’s, share ideas operations and ordering’s. Quality control and consistency on food. Professional hard working chef is needed in the kitchen.
**Responsibilities for Sous Chef**
- Manage all activities in the kitchen, including food preparation and production, and management and training of kitchen staff
- Ensure efficient, cost-effective operation and profitability of food production
- Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order
- Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality, and are prepared to serve in a timely manner
- Assume the role as Head Chef in his or her absence
- Assure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications
- Monitor holding and storage operations, stocking and food rotation, and guarantee food service sanitation standards are met
- Assure kitchen personnel is trained in best cleanliness and sanitation practices
**Requirement**
Good culinary skills with 3 years of sous chef experience
Culinary certification is an advantage
A fair / good knowledge with Asian and European cuisine
Wok experience is an advantage
