**Critical Tasks and Expected Contributions/Results**:
Lead the group valuation team for the region (Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia), in addition to responsibilities for the Singapore business to deliver on IFRS17 and Certifying Actuary assignment.

Oversee APAC valuation matters with leading the team on

Performing regular internal reporting similarly for other APAC countries such as Hong Kong & Australia

Overseeing valuation process of joint venture partner in China etc.

Develop best practice for the region, utilizing technology solutions where applicable and ensuring consistency regionally.

Manage key stakeholders on emerging business issues and impacts.

Liaise regularly with regional counterparts from other regions within Cigna to share ideas and develop solutions.

Be a trusted advisor to the business.

Grow team skills and ensure individuals development needs are being assessed and met.

Carry out the responsibilities of the certifying actuary of Cigna Singapore as prescribed under the Insurance (Actuaries) Regulations 2013, as well as other insurance regulations and notices issued by the MAS.

**SG IFRS17**: Co-manage IFRS 17 project with CFO, finance, IT, central team and consultants to implement IFRS 17 solution for Singapore business i.e., complete UAT, parallel run so as to smoothly transit to monthly BAU reporting.

**SG Regular Internal (USGAAP) reporting**: including month end/quarter end/year end closing etc.; annual study e.g., reserve study; reporting to US corporate e.g., premium deficiency test, unpaid claims analysis etc.

**Key Challenges/Anticipated Changes in Environment**:
In a post Covid environment the healthcare landscape continues to emerge differently than pre-Covid. Members are interacting with healthcare differently, disease states look different than they did pre-Covid in terms of diagnoses, severity, frequency. Providers have not regained full capacity in many locations so understanding how that impacts spend is key to this role. We’re also facing economic downturns, inflationary environments and travel patterns are emerging differently. All of these issues mean we need to look at our valuation processes and results in a different way. The valuation manager needs to ensure methods meet the needs of analysis and environmental issues are appropriately reflected in results and explanation of those results.

**Experience/Knowledge, Education and Other Requirements**:
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related field of study

Associate in the Society of Actuaries, Institute of Actuaries, or comparable actuarial designation.

Qualified actuary

Strong knowledge and experience of valuation and reporting process.

Understanding in health insurance, health claim process, healthcare systems, IFRS17 is a plus.

10+ years of actuarial experience, with knowledge of the Actuarial valuation function and operating models

Excellent English verbal and written skills

Strong proficiency in Programming (macro), Microsoft (Excel, Access, PowerPoint etc.), Alteryx, AWS, ResQ, SQL and Tableau preferred.
