**About the role**

Joining a small but expanding Accounting team as an contract Assistant Accountant (6 months), your primary role will be to assist the Senior Accountants in recurring accounting, reporting, and statutory matters for Essence. This will include helping to manage month-end closing and reporting processes, ICFR documentation, and assisting in statutory filing.

With a fast growing business and increased complexity in the financial reporting processes and compliance requirements, this role is crucial to help manage recurring accounting processes to enable the Senior Accountants to focus and deliver quality results within tight deadlines.

**Some of the things we'd like you to do**:

- Assist in month-end closing which includes accrual preparation and supporting schedules
- Assist in month-end reporting which includes updating BFC schedules and submission before deadlines
- Assist in quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting process.
- Maintain fixed assets register including additions, disposals, depreciation, asset tagging, etc.
- Assist in statutory matters including external audit, GST filing, Corporate tax, Transfer pricing documentation, Government Statistic Survey, etc.
- Preparing ICFR documentation for review by the deadlines
- Assist in external, internal, and ICFR audit
- Assist in intercompany reconciliation, identify and resolving mismatches
- Collate information for intercompany billings
- Vendor/ customer/ employees account creation in SAP accounting system
- Perform bank reconciliation and GL reconciliations
- Other ad-hoc assignments from time to time

**A bit about yourself**:

- Degree/diploma in accounting
- Ideally 2 -3 years' experience in accounting and reporting related functions
- Experience of working with Microsoft Excel and Google sheet (added advantage)
- Responsible, diligent and attentive to detail; follows through on queries and issues
- Good communicator, comfortable in dealing with both internal and external parties
- Committed and taking ownership
- Independence
- Good problem-solving skill
- Good in multitasking
- Experience in SAP B1 is preferable
