Key Responsibilities:

- To conceive and recommend instrument enhancements for expansion and to bridge advanced characterization needs of the University.
- To conduct experiments, gather and collate data, interpret results and provide advanced training (lectures and practical training) to research students, staff and industry clients.
- To produce patentable and publishable material.
- Guide and mentor students

Job Requirements:

- A PhD in Materials Science or Physics
- Good technical knowledge of Advanced Transmission Electron Microscopy and the associated techniques
- At least 6 years of university or industrial research work after obtaining a PhD
- Demonstrable high level instrumental expertise
- Experience in mentoring and training graduate students and research staff
