**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Position Title: Territorial Secretary for Youth and Children

You will discharge the duties and responsibilities of the office consistent with the principles, standards accordance to the Orders and Regulations of The Salvation Army. You will conduct the affairs of the office responsibly and efficiently and motivate staff to do likewise.

You will conduct all activities of the office with a view to accomplishing the mission of The Salvation Army as described in its mission statement.

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Facilitate the development, resourcing and monitoring of Youth and Children’s ministries in the Territory.
- Provide resources and relevant training for all standard TSA Youth and Children’s programs
- Plan, implement, promote, coordinate, oversee, review or lead aspects of the Youth and Children’s ministry work at Territorial level.
- Provide resources to corps and centres to establish and maintain effective programmes for children and youth.
- Source for external services that enhance children and youth ministry in the corps and centres.
- Facilitate suitable courses/seminars or any other external services to enhance children and youth ministry in the corps.
- Provide pastoral care and support to those under the department’s influence.
- Review and develop annual calendar of events in consultation with stakeholders and (final approval given by Territorial Secretary for Programme) ensure clear objectives, budgets and other plans are in place for all events.
- Organize territorial or regional events, i.e. youth camp, youth rally, youth councils, combine youth meetings and any other events for the benefit of our youth.
- Facilitate the development, resourcing and monitoring of children's ministries in the Territory.
- Ensure measurable progress in relation to making and nurturing of young disciples across the Territory.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum Degree
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with members
- Organisational skills
- Analytical ability
- Problem solving skills
