**Purpose of the Role**

Accountable for the P&L and for developing and executing the commercial strategy and mid-term plan. This role leads the business across a diverse and highly dynamic region, including full affiliates in countries such as Australia, India, and Southeast Asia, as well as select partner markets.

As a member of the International Markets Leadership Team (IMLT), the role contributes to shaping and delivering the overall INT-C divisional strategy. The position is responsible for driving performance, managing operational risks, and fostering talent development across the region.

**What you will do includes**:
Lead the creation and execution of the annual business plan and mid-term roadmap, in close partnership with country GMs and business stakeholders, navigating the complexity of multiple markets with diverse regulatory, cultural, and economic landscapes.

Ensure the annual delivery of the P&L and Balanced Scorecard. Monitor country-level performance and operating models to secure delivery of financial and non-financial goals. Provide strategic guidance to GMs on resource reallocation and corrective actions when significant risks or opportunities arise.

The region represents a significant and growing part of the International Markets business, with projected aggressive revenues, the region is expected to deliver strong performance. The role will oversee approximately 350 employees in the Commercial organization and around 480 employees in total across the region.

Drive timely, cross-functional support from global and regional matrix teams to enable operational excellence, capability building, and strategic execution across the region.

Lead the cross-functional regional leadership team, aligning stakeholders across markets and functions. Foster a high-performance culture by developing affiliate capabilities, coaching commercial leaders, and strengthening the talent pipeline.

Promote an inclusive and engaging workplace culture that supports sustainable employee engagement, retention, and continuous development.

Actively contribute to the IMLT, shaping divisional strategy, policies, and culture — and championing Astellas' Values and Behaviors across the region.

Ensure full compliance with internal policies and external legal, regulatory, and ethical standards, coordinating closely with GMs and functional partners (Legal, Regulatory, Medical, HR, Compliance, PV, QA, etc.).

Where applicable, assume legal and fiduciary board responsibilities for entities within the region

**Required Qualifications**
- Degree level education (MBA useful)
- Pharmaceutical industry experience and geographical knowledge and experience across the APAC countries
- GM experience
- Proven ability, track record and experience to effectively lead and motivate teams.
- Proven expertise and understanding of key business issues and drivers within Pharma industry.
