Our client, a prominent global shipping enterprise, is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Assistant General Manager to lead its liner operations team. Reporting to the General Manager, this strategic role is focused on enhancing operational excellence, improving service reliability, and driving innovation across the container fleet.

**Job Scope**:

- Lead the teams responsible for vessel operations, stowage planning, and scheduling, ensuring efficient execution and coordination across services
- Monitor and manage fleet performance, aiming to minimize disruptions, improve reliability, and reduce operational costs
- Develop, implement, and regularly review key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of liner operations
- Optimize stowage planning to maximize vessel utilization and crane performance, introducing programs to consistently improve crane productivity
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory compliance, particularly in relation to dangerous goods handling
- Drive continuous improvement in operational processes, port turnaround times, and digital transformation through automation initiatives
- Manage operational budgets, with a strong focus on fuel efficiency and cost optimization projects
- Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to refine fleet routing, manage emissions, and improve fuel management, supporting broader sustainability and strategic goals
- Lead operational and business analyses, supporting initiatives through project management and cross-functional collaboration
- Evaluate vessel deployment options, assessing operational suitability and establishing optimal intake capacities
- Oversee the Global Special Cargo Operations desk, ensuring efficient handling of special cargo bookings and inquiries
- Conduct financial reviews and cost analyses, identifying deviations and proposing actions for savings or enhanced revenue generation

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Maritime Studies or a related discipline is required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in liner and marine operations within major global container liner companies
- Previous sea-going experience would be an added advantage
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, manage complex projects, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with excellent command of English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with dashboarding tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik View/Sense is highly preferred
