**About the Role**:
You are responsible for creating and driving data privacy and data governance initiatives for a digital bank that seeks to offer inclusive banking services to customers based on a strong foundation of data innovation, privacy and trust.
As the Data Privacy and Governance Lead Specialist, you will be involved in creating and implementing data privacy and governance policies, processes, systems and tools, and the bank’s data architecture to ensure enterprise data is securely stored, documented and managed effectively. You will partner with various parts of the bank to drive initiatives to embed privacy into the bank’s products and process design, and provide advice on compliance with data protection requirements.
The role involves:
- Implementing the bank’s data protection management programme, including the development, review and implementation of data protection related policies and processes
- Implementing the bank’s data privacy risk management, including working with business units to conduct data protection impact assessments to identify, assess, mitigate and review data privacy risks.
- Partnering business, compliance and risk teams to provide advice to support business units in the development of products and business initiatives to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
- Implementing effective training and communications initiatives to increase staff awareness of data privacy and governance in the bank.
- Implementing the bank’s data privacy management systems, software and tools to effectively oversee and monitor the bank’s processing of personal data and management of consent.
- Collaborating with engineering teams to implement robust data architecture that ensures enterprise data is securely stored and managed effectively, and data governance solutions, metrics, reports and dashboards to improve efficiency, data accuracy and consistency.
- Working with relevant regulatory authorities and industry groupings on developing guidance to provide thought leadership on data privacy, data and AI governance issues and use cases.
- Overseeing and implementing the bank’s data breach management plan in coordination with relevant business units and functions, and participating as a key member of the bank’s data breach response team.
**Requirements**:
- At least 6 years of relevant experience and strong understanding of data privacy and involvement in implementing data governance activities and processes in a large organization, preferably in the banking, financial services or digital services sector in Singapore.
- Ability to adopt practical approaches to effectively balance business with compliance requirements.
- Ability to understand business and technical requirements of data, and manage the technical implementation of data privacy management systems and software tools.
- Sound understanding and technical experience in data management, including metadata, data access and data quality management, familiarity with Big Data components & Data Warehousing concepts, preferably in SnowFlake.
- Good understanding of data privacy and governance related regulatory requirements, especially in the area of managing and protecting personal data within a Big Data and GenAI environment, and preferably with an understanding of financial sectoral laws and other related regulations.
- Self-starter, able to work independently and in teams.
- Strong project management, writing, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
