This role is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all activities, practices and procedures related to Asia Market's (Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) accounting and financial control functions.

Reporting directly to our Asia Market CFO, the Financial Controller manages and guides our internal control efforts on financial governance including effectively liaising with Country CFOs, corporate partners and internal stakeholders to address external / internal audits, regulatory reviews and any governance reviews such as SOX, compliance or risk assessments.

S/he will also be a key stakeholder in supporting the development of a long-term and short-term finance transformation and governance framework that aligns with the guidance set by the market, GRM and Liberty Mutua. These activities include monitoring of accounting records maintenance, implementation and alignment of best control practices, reporting, and analysis of operating results and cross-market transaction oversight (transfer pricing).

S/he is a key member of our Asia Market Finance leadership team and will have frequent exposure to our Executive Leadership team and GRM Finance leadership.

**Responsibilities**:

- Partner with AMCM Finance Leaders to implementation of solid, actionable plans to improve the company’s financial governance framework
- Work with MCM Finance Leader to create a more unified culture across countries aligned to the larger regional and global strategic vision
- Drive process and technology improvements, critical special projects and cross-functional initiatives that enhanced data quality to improve financial accounting and reporting analysis
- Identify and create a plan to implement common processes, controls, systems, or other synergies
- Provide accounting thought leadership to drive value across Asia Market strategic initiatives
- Supervise the resolution of technical accounting, taxation and internal control issues and advise functional partners on resolution and documentation
- Develop a network of talent across Asia Market and foster a continuous improvement mindset

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience. CPA, CA or Accounting certification preferred with at least 10 years of proven experience in accounting/ reporting / controls ideally in the insurance / financial industry
- Prior demonstrated success in a leadership role with responsibility or ability to lead engagement or projects
- Prior demonstrated success leading and managing teams in a multicultural environment requiring collaboration across multiple geographies and business groups
- Critical, strategic, and analytic thinking capabilities, attention to detail and ability to effectuate change
- Strong influencing, facilitation and consensus-building skills and the ability to drive change management whilst being culturally agile
- Displays a global understanding of the competitive issues locally, regionally, and globally
