**What the role is**
- As a Counsellor in the Gifted Education Branch, Curriculum Planning and Development Division, you will support schools offering the Gifted Education (GE) enriched curriculum to meet the social emotional needs of Gifted Education Programme (GEP) students, including those with special educational needs, and help teachers understand the social and emotional needs of these students.
**What you will be working on**
- Monitor the socio-emotional well-being of primary school GEP students and provide preventive care and/ or counselling services where required
- Provide case-conferencing services and work with schools to help primary school GEP students transit to the secondary level, including providing tiered support to students with social and emotional issues or special educational needs
- Identify, monitor and keep abreast with trends and issues in related fields
- Develop resources for teacher counsellors to facilitate early identification of children with emerging concerns and to equip teachers with counselling strategies
- Conduct training for teachers on areas related to the socio-emotional needs of students as well as provide consultancy services to schools and parents, including organising activities such as webinars, workshops.
- Support the branch to implement mentorship or enrichment programmes for students to explore their interests and develop their talents
**What we are looking for**
- Preferably with at least 1 year of experience in counselling and/or working with children
- Ability to work and learn independently and collaborate with others in a team
- Good writing skills
- Ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders
- Proficient in the use of online conferencing platforms e,g, Zoom, SG Teams
- Possess a relevant Counselling qualification such as those recognised by the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC)
