**Job Description Summary**

The Senior Process Engineer will report to the Manager, Process Engineering based at the Baltimore Process Technology group in the US. and will support the BACTEC manufacturing department in meeting the following Operational Objectives: Accelerate QN analysis and linkage to Quality and Cost, deliver specific projects addressing technological improvement and Improve product/quality performance indicators.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop, enhance and implement manufacturing and test procedures/specifications for new and existing processes.
- Develop and enhance procedures and specifications for raw materials.
- Assist in the planning, coordination and performance of product evaluations and pilot manufacturing.
- In conjunction with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and R&D, assist in determining that existing and proposed manufacturing processes have the capability to meet Quality requirements by developing and analyzing statistical studies.
- Serve as Technical representative, when needed, for material review board and documentation revision.
- Trend BACTEC Sensor performance and provide guidance for manufacturing adjustments accordingly.
- Serve as liaison with Baltimore/Cayey on Sensor and Media manufacturing issues. Interact with other departments such as Quality and Customer Service to further department goals.
- Support the investigation of BACTEC Sensor and Media related customer complaints.
- Support plant CAPA system in investigation, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action implementation, as needed.
- Provide leadership or support to Validation activities in accordance to the Validation Tool Kit.
- Lead special projects/assignments, as directed by Management.
- Maintain and improve knowledge of current technology through literature review, seminars, scientific meetings, etc.

**Preferred Requirements: (For Illustrative Purposes Only)**
- Bachelor's degree in science - Chemistry or Engineering. Biological would be advantageous.
- Analytical and statistical knowledge - LEAN/Six Sigma experience preferred.
- Able to work autonomously and part of a team global team in Puerto Rico and Maryland, US.
- Collaborate with different functions across the business.

- Familiarity with microbiological laboratory practices. Knowledge of standard laboratory practices, statistics and computer skills.
- Experience in the manufacturing operation within the Food/ Pharma / Chemicals / Biologics / Flavor / Beverage Industry.
- Has previous New Product Introduction experience in a regulated environment.
