This role requires adept troubleshooting, excellent verbal and written communication, effective time-management, situational awareness, poise under pressure and the ability to work collaboratively. You will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and colleagues in Services, GCS, Global Support, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Marketing and Quality Control.
**Duties**
Duties include, but are not limited to:
'¢ Introduce Nanopore data analysis solutions to customers through on-site and virtual trainings, conduct workshops, develop online learning material.
'¢ Identify and resolve customer bottlenecks by diagnosis, troubleshooting and training where necessary to bring bioinformatics enablement
'¢ Establish a plan to visit and/or communicate with each assigned customer on a frequency matching the customer's needs and support requirements, and ONT's business priorities
'¢ Coordinate and deliver training and consultancy services offered by Oxford Nanopore Technologies Plc., with a particular focus on bioinformatics
'¢ Record and document relevant information from all technical enquiries from current and prospective customers into ONT's CRM
'¢ As a territory-based position, you will work closely with the sales team to provide high quality, effective technical expertise to customers and prospective customers in both the pre and post sales stages to support sales order and utilization/revenue growth.
'¢ Work with Account Managers to identify business opportunities, understand customer research needs, and position appropriate ONT products and solutions
'¢ Assist the sales team with pre-sales technical activities like on-site product presentations and demonstrations
'¢ Participate in the organisation and running of seminars, exhibitions and similar 'œon-site'
- activities at key accounts and congresses in the relevant territories
'¢ Onboard and mentor junior members of the team.
'¢ Support the onboarding, certification and maintenance of Channel Partners
'¢ Travel required (up to 30%)
'¢ Any other duties as might be required within the remit and responsibilities of the post.
**Requirements**:
'¢ Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics or equivalent experience in industry role(s)
'¢ Proven experience working with NGS Data analysis pipelines such as, but not limited to; genome assembly and annotation, variant calling, structural variant detection, transcriptomics or phylogenetic analysis.
'¢ Familiarity working in Linux (or similar) command line environment.
'¢ Experience in one or more Data Science programming languages like Python, Perl, R or similar.
'¢ Experience in fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
'¢ Previous experience in oral presentations, teaching or training other scientists in bioinformatics.
'¢ Experience in biological interpretation of data and analysis results.
'¢ Experience with supporting large scale, high throughout population sequencing initiatives is essential
'¢ Technical competency in bioinformatics fundamentals and principles of experimental design.
'¢ Highly motivated, determined, critical thinking, and strong problem-solving skills.
'¢ Effective written, verbal communication and listening skills.
'¢ To troubleshoot and to summarise resolutions in concise manner.
'¢ Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate concepts and results.
'¢ Provide information back to customers in a helpful, courteous, positive, and professional manner.
