**Role Profile**
Driven by our mission to support the safe, lawful, and efficient movement of trade by sea, Lloyd’s List Intelligence delivers data and analysis at the moments that clients need us most. For almost 300 years we have been the go-to partner for maritime intelligence.
The Credit Risk and Casualty team at Lloyd’s List Intelligence is part of our Seasearcher suite of risk and compliance solutions. Our team of expert analysts uses a comprehensive toolbox of stakeholder interviews, OSINT research, and in-house estimation tools to conduct due diligence research on companies in the maritime ship supply and commodities markets.
Reporting to the Maritime Editorial Data Manager in London, the **Lead Credit Analyst** will write and drive output of credit risk assessments in APAC, maintaining a network of contacts. The Lead Analyst will manage two direct reports in Singapore, providing feedback, training and mentoring. The role will be key in driving continual enhancements and high-quality output to the report database for our credit risk customers, improving our customer experience and supporting revenue growth.
This position presents an exciting opportunity for an energetic, results-driven and personable individual with a strong analytical and data experience. This role is permanent and offers balanced working of 2 to 3 days in our Singapore office.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Produce an agreed number of credit reports per month, meeting customer needs and driving commercial growth.
- Support the Maritime Editorial Data Manager in leading a global credit risk team, ensuring regional and global targets are met.
- Actively research and analyse companies, shipping, and financial markets to make confident and concise credit risk judgments.
- Train and onboard Credit Report Analysts, mentor and coach junior colleagues, and contribute to training and process improvements.
- Stay abreast of LLI product developments and market news, including Lloyd’s List breaking news and reporting.
- Foster collaboration and share information with other in-house data teams.
**What we are looking for**:
**Essential**
- At least 3 years’ experience as a senior analyst or team lead in business intelligence, consultancy, or data research.
- At least 3 years' experience in an editorial or analytical role as a senior analyst or team lead.
- Experience in analysing complex company financial data, cash flow analysis, and/or company due diligence.
- Experience and interest in training and/or line management of more junior team members.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Advanced OSINT skills.
- Strong stakeholder management is key in this role, including external stakeholders/clients.
- A flexible, can-do attitude with the ability to manage several ongoing tasks at any one time.
**Desirable**
- Proficiency in another language is highly desirable, particularly Mandarin.
- Experience compiling training methodology and feedback documents for team members and other research partners.
- Comprehensive understanding of complex company ownership structures and financial and legal transactions in the maritime industry.
- Experience mapping legal corporate structures and proficiency using corporate registries.
- Innovative and dynamic approach to problem-solving.
- Proven success in implementing data, research, and content improvements.
- Confident presentation skills for internal and external audiences.
- Experience resolving complex customer queries.
- An established network of contacts in the maritime industry.
- Software skills in packages that are synonymous with Big Data management, e.g. SQL, Python, etc.
- Experience using datasets in natural language processing (NLP) would be an advantage.
