
Director, Sourcing Apparel

**Purpose:
Lead the SMFE Apparel team. Manage the relationships between RDG and the T1/T2’s, ensuring that the RDG apparel objectives are met.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for the overall business, operations, and functions to execute the Apparel sourcing strategy for RDG.
- Guide and align the SMFE Singapore team in managing the product creation process (including development, material, quality and costing) ensuring that company standards and objectives are met, and develop/ share best practice.
- Build and maintain a close relationship with T1/T2’s to ensure quick resolution to issues as well as engage them in overall company strategies.
- Provide input and regular update of information necessary for allocation to support the allocation process.
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant local laws respecting human rights, health and safety of all employees and environment.
- Continually develop a strong team and foster teamwork, internally (within SMFE), with the RDG team and the T1/T2’s
- Lead, coach and train a lean and effective organization. Take the leading role in succession planning developing our future talents internally and wherever possible with local hires.

**Knowledge Skills and Abilities**:
- Strong understanding of Country, Regional & Global cost drives
- specific to the Apparel Industry
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Management experience, including leading, developing, and motivating people, in building and maintaining an effective team.
- Strategic thinking and results orientated.
- Strong planning and organization skills
- Pro-active approach and thinking outside the box.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), local languages an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in Project management
**Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications**:
- Diploma or degree from an educational entity preferably in related fields.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in the Apparel Industry.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in visiting Apparel factories.
- Experience in Apparel product creation / Execution **.
