**Job Description**:
**The Role**

You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of electronics hardware for Industrial Control products I/O Modules. You will engage in development and maintenance activities of products that include definition of design specifications, design/implementation of circuits, troubleshooting of designs, conducting validation/compliance tests, and creation of design/product documentation. You will engage in these activities to drive performance, functionality, cost optimization, manufacturability and quality in products delivered. You should have a strong capability to lead, communicate and engage solution investigations with cross functional teams and multi-site project teams. You need to possess a passion and drive to bring in timely solutions for design challenges and anomaly resolutions.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Does detailed circuit design and analysis independently
- Create design documentation such as circuit detailed design specifications, product validation test plans and test cases
- Perform schematics capture for PCB layout design
- Evaluate components to ensure it meets circuit design specifications
- Conduct product design verification & validation tests to ensure product meet design requirements and reliability
- Generate bill of materials from schematics capture, engineering change requests for manufacturing build
- Performing EMC/EMI testing for product conformance certifications
- Solving design anomalies, make prototyping solutions, perform, and validate with lab measurements, impact analysis, and provide technical recommendations
- Deliver a clear presentation of technical information with supporting documentation in a team setting
- Collaborate and work with cross campus teams across different geographical areas
- Participate in design process improvement activities
- Able to work meticulously, independently, and with integrity

**Preferred Experience**
- Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related qualification
- 10 years of work experience in hardware development of industrial IO modules
- Familiarity with hardware design process
- Experience in industrial automation industry is highly desired
- Good knowledge and technical understanding of both discrete digital and analog circuit design and concepts
- Demonstrated product design experience in two or more of the following areas
- Micro-processor/Micro-controller design interface
- Communication bus interfaces design (SPI, I2C, RS232, RS485, HART)
- Field side ADC and DAC implementation design
- Implementation of solid state/discrete relays in relay IO modules
- Designing for thermal performance and power consumption sizing
- Good experience in schematics capture and PCB board design tools such as Mentor Graphics is highly desired
- Good knowledge in electronics circuit simulation tool (LTSpice, OrCAD PSpice, TINA) is highly desired
- Good knowledge with designing to EMC/EMI and safety regulatory certifications
- Knowledge in Timing Analysis for digital circuit design, Signal Integrity and Power Integrity
- Knowledge in EMC noise reduction techniques/EMI noise suppression techniques and countermeasures for PCB layout
- Proven ability to conduct product testing for Environmental and Certification Test Standards
- Good knowledge in computer skills such as Microsoft Excel, Office, PowerPoint
- Good organizational skills with a systematic and meticulous approach
- Be innovative, curious and have a preserving approach to problem solving
- Able to explain, present and bring across ideas concisely
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work in teams and independently
