Purpose of the position
You will be the first point of direct contact for new and existing clients who are looking to create leading sustainability strategies in their own organizations. You will be hunting and engaging in opportunities within the focus sectors.
The Business Development Executive / Senior Executive is primarily responsible for selling BSI products and services relating to Sustainability, and BSI products and services specific to the Built Environment Sector, to new and existing customers within Singapore. This role is responsible for identifying and managing business development and sales opportunities, building an in-depth understanding of client business needs and drivers, to position how BSI solutions can drive organizations to improve performance, manage risk, reduce cost, and enable sustainable growth.- This is a direct, client-facing hunter role focused on the Singapore market.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities
Sector/Stream Focus (Sustainability & Built Environment) and Account Management:
- Develop new clientele of customers- Manage accounts in Sustainability and Built Environment (BE) sectors- Work as a thought leader in Technical and Commercial discussion for Sustainability & Built Environment testing, inspection, and certification services- Be a Sustainability & Built Environment (BE) Champion to provide key business and market insights to the Leadership Team on the Sustainability & Build & Environment (BE) Industry- Coordinate with Operations, Technical and Compliance team to provide ISO certification and training services such as ISO 14064, ISO 14067, PAS 2060, Building Information Modelling (BIM)and other related courses- Organize quarterly seminars to build awareness of ISO 14064, ISO 14067, PAS 2060, BIM and other related topics for focused industries- Review & process customer feedback and complaints and ensure corrective action is completed- Develop and maintain an ongoing business development plan for the assigned sector/stream to achieve predefined targets- Support the operations team to develop business in Sustainability and Built Environment (BE) sector- Grow and expand BSI business in Singapore through business development and technical support- Coordinate with the Regional Sustainability and Built Environment (BE) sector team to build proposals based on requirements from vendors- Able to articulate the value of the portfolio of BSI products and services- Able to manage a full sales cycle, from prospecting to qualifying leads to opportunity and proposal creation and closing- Conduct SWOT and competitors & stakeholders’ analysis- Clearly understand and articulate the revenue, gross profit, and contribution impact of your business activities- Act as a brand Ambassador for BSI. This means acting ethically, following company rules, and promoting BSI services to clients so they are able to optimize business performance and “Make Excellence a Habit”.
Partnership Strategy on Sustainability- Creates sustainable product value propositions based on company, partner, and/or customer needs for a particular product/industry.- Drives support and action by influencing internal stakeholders and partners and promoting the value of opportunities.- Provides insight on sustainability and/or environmental trends and drives action based on insights (Singapore). Conduct market trend research based on the intelligence collected.- Leverages relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders to identify and validate unique opportunities that cross business areas or target high-priority gaps across technology, product, business, sustainability, ecology, and/or geography.- Establish new sales channels and partnerships.
Driving Sales through understanding customer needs:
- Proactively network with new and existing customers to sell and up-sell BSI products - including cross-sell of training clients to certification and vice versa.- Identify new prospects through targeted calls and visits to generate sales revenue- Identifying customer needs and demonstrating BSI's value-added solutions and capability- Work inside Sales Team in executing BSI sales excellence processes to investigate, explore and understand customer needs in order to sell relevant training and other related BSI products and services- Actively promote BSI products and services to new and existing customers with regard to system certification, product certification, and training- Ensure BSI products and services are delivered according to customer requirements
Building the Sales Pipeline through active Territory Management:
- Opportunity management through proactive territory management to develop a solid pipeline- Effective use of price book and tools to propose our products and services- Use relevant sales/product collateral to illustrate how a range of BSI products meets identified customer needs.
