**Job Description**:
Microbiologist Scopes:

- Demonstrate Teamwork in Daily Routine Testing.
- Demonstrate Good Documentation Practice in daily work.
- Maintain Quality & Technical Documentation and Laboratory records with Audit Trail/s.
- Uphold the confidentiality, integrity, quality, technical, health and safety aspects of the company.
- Learn & Conduct Routine Analysis in Compliance with Methods, Protocols, SOPs, & Regulatory Agency Guidelines.
- Learn & Assist in Releasing & Data Entry for Operational Results & QC Checking.
- Learn & Use Laboratory Equipment and Software appropriate for assigned tasks.
- Learn & Assist in Preparation of Microbiological Media & Standards & Sterility Checks.
- Learn & Assist the Maintenance of Reference Cultures/Standards.
- Learn & Assist in Bacterial Culture Isolation & Identification & Enumeration.
- Learn & Assist in Lab’s Environmental Monitoring & Microbiological Sampling for Environment/Air Monitoring.
- Learn & Perform basic calibration of equipment in the respective section when necessary.
- Learn to identify abnormalities and discrepancies in the testing, calibration and results.
- Able to learn and perform or lead Proficiency Testing/s Programs.
- If entrusted further ICs scopes learn & maintain scope, inclusive of minor supervisory scopes if appointed.
- If entrusted to learn & assist the lab manager in updating/developing of test methods and working instructions.
- Assist Sales with the help of the Technical Team in providing adequate & simplified technical evidence/information to help them discuss test results with customers whenever necessary.
- Able to take minor shift work (8 30am to 6 pm/10 30am to 8pm) due to MOM COVID-19 Business Continuity Requirements.

PCR Technologist Scopes:

- Performs PCR analysis to detect & quantify RNA and DNA (Qualitative/Quantitative) (Non-Clinical)
- Comfortable to handle lower risk non-clinical wastewater samples with possible viral shredding contents.
- This includes extensive and complex steps requiring manual manipulation & pipetting, close monitoring & control, evaluation of data and careful accurate work.
- Able to Perform Manual & Auto DNA/RNA Extraction/Purification depending on kit/ tender needs.
- Set up PCR Testing Protocols & PCR Best Practices in the Laboratory.
- Identify the shortfalls of current setup and equipment needed to increase throughput or meet client’s needs.
- Suggest & Ensure Proper Preparation & Proper Storage of PCR Related Reagents & Samples.
- Identify PCR Consumables & Safety PPE requirements & stock levels, coordinate purchases with lab manager.
- Learn to evaluate results to determine interference, inhibition, or other problems that arise during extraction, amplification, or sequencing of DNA.
- Maintain equipment by performing assigned maintenance activities & troubleshoot unexpected problems.

**Qualifications**:

- 2 to 5 years’ Experience in PCR Works & Method Development (QPCR/ddPCR, preferably in Viral RNA/DNA)
- Educational Background or Experience in Microbiology will be beneficial. (E.g. Degree in Microbiology/ Biomedical Science/ Life Science/ Biochemistry etc.)
- Educational Background can be substitute with experience.
