Director/ Senior Director of Sourcing

We are working with a leading chemicals manufacturing MNC to look for a high caliber sourcing expert with successful track record in manufacturing sourcing, to lead and strengthen their regional and global sourcing capability.

**Some of the key responsibilities will include**:

- Leading and managing the strategic sourcing activities across multiple factories in the APAC region
- Working with cross-functional teams and business leaders to understand the business needs and opportunities that will define the global sourcing & commodity strategy
- Developing sourcing strategies to ensure delivery of high-quality raw materials, key components and capex, and reliable services to support manufacturing and capital projects across the multiple manufacturing sites
- Working closely with R&D, product development, and the supply base on new category development, and to develop target-cost and low-cost alternatives
- Planning and negotiating with suppliers on costing and ensuring the sourcing process and the quality is in line with global regulations
- Monitoring supplier performance management to ensure supply competitiveness and initiating new vendor development plan

**To be eligible for this role you will require**:

- A minimum of 10 years of track record in chemicals or ingredients manufacturing sourcing, preferably within a MNC manufacturer, and in a multi-market or regional capacity
- Expertise in regional/ global operations and change management with a strategic mindset and strong business & financial acumen
- Thorough understanding of the manufacturing environment and success in driving procurement and working capital improvement ideal
- Solid experience managing sourcing and R&D projects across multiple sites or with regional footprint
- A demonstrated high level influencing skills and the ability to articulate negotiations
- Strong knowledge in ERP/ MRP systems, as well as Sales & Operations Planning process ideal
- Fluency in English language; with knowledge of Chinese an advantage
- Some travelling to manufacturing and supplier sites
