The Assistant Manager will assist a team of staff in delivering key student leadership development initiatives in SIT, such as the Future Ready Leadership Development Programme, the SITizen Ambassadors and Vanguard Programmes. The Assistant Manager will also support student welfare initiatives as part of the holistic support to students.
The Assistant Manager will also support the Division's daily operations, including project management and student relationship development. The position will contribute to developing student leadership capabilities and a vibrant, inclusive, supportive student life and university campus.
This position is part of the Leadership Development Pillar in the Student Life Division. It is one of the pillars in the Division which creates transformative, enriching campus experiences and promotes student wellbeing. The pillars in Student Life Division include Campus Engagement, Counselling Services, Diversity and Inclusion, Leadership Development, Sports Development, Performing Arts, Student Organisations and Global Citizenship. These pillars create a holistic educational environment to enrich and empower students, develop their leadership skills and create opportunities to build the community.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Work with the Team Lead and the team to deliver key Leadership Development programmes, including programme design, execution, and evaluation.
- Support the efficient and accurate administration and operational functions of Leadership Development and the Division where required, which includes procurement, consolidating data and preparing reports and presentations.
- Contribute to the Leadership Development structures, designs, execution, and evaluation of programmes and initiatives, ensuring optimal student engagement, experience and learning.
- Manage and support student-led projects and programmes, reviewing and evaluating their proposals and administrative and logístical matters.
- Mentor students, developing their potential, creating opportunities to encourage personal development, and guiding them in building meaningful relationships amongst peers and multiple partners within SIT and the community.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and review of the Division's work plans, resource allocation and team development.
- Ad hoc projects as assigned by the Director of Student Life.
**Job Requirements**
- Degree from a good University with at least three years of experience in a similar position in an educational environment.
- Passionate about supporting and developing people.
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathetic, positive attitude with the ability to think “out of the box”.
- Excellent with Microsoft Office.
- Agile, able to multitask and work independently within a tight timeline.
- Able to work in a face pace and dynamic environment, adaptable to change.
- Willingness to learn continually through training, guidance, and self-reflection.
- Committed team player, responsible, reliable, and able to work with others to achieve Division goals.
