Job summary

The Colocation Build Program Manager (CBPM) contributes to Colocation Data Center (ie. Colo) construction and commissioning program initiatives, site qualifications, cost control, design reviews, and onsite project management as needed. The CBPM collaborates with site planning, engineering, procurement, and construction services teams to drive Colo standards, resiliency, cost, and process improvements. Further, the CBPM manages, evaluates, and provides input to site planning, design, installation, startup, testing, and turnover activities. The CBPM is flexible to cover multiple inflight tasks and aggressive timelines and is responsible for providing timely updates for progress and lessons learned.

ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Ability and willingness to travel internationally and domestically for up to 50% of the year. Expected travel up to 25%.
- Ability and willingness to use personal transportation for meetings and job visits away from the office, all reimbursed.

Key job responsibilities
- Work with our global partners to scale and drive AWS Colo program initiatives.
- Review and provide feedback to site qualification process, including planning, contracting, and cost control.
- Manage deployment projects, including project coordination, technical review, progress communications, and issues escalations, all in a timely manner.
- Support technical deployment of AWS products in Colocation data centres as applicable.
- Work with regional Colocation engineering stakeholders to review and accept proposed changes to site-specific infrastructure in accordance with our AWS standards.
- Review and provide feedback on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), and technical operations documents.
- Collaborate with engineering, delivery, and operations teams to validate installation and operation of electrical, mechanical, controls systems.
- Document and manage program and project activities.

About the team
Our team members collaborate across AWS stakeholders in a fast-paced environment to deliver results, drive standards, and raise the bar for AWS Colos.
- 3+ years of experience related to the Colocation data centre industry.
- Have a strong Technical and Working knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical plant and services supporting mission critical Data Center environments. Including MV & LV Distribution Switchgear, Automatic Transfer Schemes, Standby Generators, UPS, Chillers, CRAC’s/CRAH’s, ancillary mechanical cooling systems plant, and system Automation & Monitoring.
- Effective communication skills, detail oriented, highly organized, and able to work in high-stress environments to maintain calm and respectful interaction with multiple teams.
- Advance knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for critical infrastructures.
- Ability to read, review, and edit design and construction documents, including: contracts, scope of works, specifications, design drawings, control diagrams, sequence of operations, submittals, inspection and test procedures.
- Experience developing and executing test procedures for mechanical or electrical systems/components based design intent.
- Advanced knowledge Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook required; advanced knowledge of SharePoint (or similar) preferred.
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role.
- Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
