The Engineering Division conducts research and provides engineering services to the whole of DSO in the areas of digital and mixed
- signal electronics/microelectronics, radio frequency (RF), electromagnetic interference (EMI)/electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), antennas, as well as mechanical and thermal engineering.

Radio Frequency Engineer (Photonics)

In this role, you will:

- Develop characterization setups for semiconductor laser devices
- Develop optical coupling solutions between lasers to photonic components, as well as suitable packaging approaches
- Be involved in the optimization of packaging solutions for photonic or optoelectronic integrated devices
- Design, package and characterize RF photonic modules
- Develop benchtop modules or prototypes for quantum sensing experiments by using photonic and RF components

**Requirements**:

- Masters’ / Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering / Electronic & Electrical Engineering / Electronic & Computer Engineering / Applied Physics
- Experience in Programming languages commonly used for data processing or laboratory equipment control (E.g. Python, Labview or MATLAB)
- Experimental or analytical experience in photonics characterization, packaging, as well as control or frequency-locking systems is preferred
- Familiarity with quantum mechanics and physics, solid state physics, classical optics as well as electromagnetic theory
- Strong interest in technical and analytical work
