- The Regional Head Internal Audit, AMA will manage the execution of the Internal Audit (IA) plan for the AMA (Asia, Middle East, Africa) region by planning and coordinating activities and ensuring proper regional audit coverage. To ensure that engagements in AMA fulfil Novartis IA methodology standards, strategies and directives, and to ensure that these are consistently applied with Quality. Building and maintaining robust relationships with key business colleagues across AMA. This position will be located at the Novartis Singapore site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will require about 30% travel as defined by the business.**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage the regional audit plan from preparation to delivery including proper oversight of people and financial resources required for the delivery of the audit plan within budget constraints. Supervise, coordinate, and communicate assurance and advisory engagements for AMA. Deliver assignments in compliance with Novartis IA’s methodology and meeting expectation of stakeholders.
- Support the Head of Internal Audit - Innovative Medicines (HIA-IM) in executing assurance and advisory work in a harmonized and simplified manner aligned with the agreed-upon Novartis IA methodology. Support HIA-IM in shaping regional IA strategy and business leadership insights.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with Regional Commercial and support (Finance, ERC, Legal) functions. Liaise with stakeholders to keep informed of regional business strategy and key risks facing the region/countries. Be considered as a key business partner enhancing the reputation of IA.
- Ensure that audit and advisory methodology and regional team execution supports simplification of key business processes aligned with the company’s aspirations. Be a role model, as an “unbossed” servant leader, empowering teams, encouraging innovation, and supporting learning and continuous improvement. Foster alignment and cooperation across IA.
- Act as a change agent, cultural champion within IA and beyond. Represent IA at respective regional leadership meetings and industry/IA profession external events. Support HIA-IM on key messages from respective region for Audit & Compliance Committee and senior management insight sharing via regular (quarterly and annual) reports including significant, recurring/emerging issues and lessons learned.
- Prepare a comprehensive risk assessment for the respective region that serves as a basis for future assurance and advisory plans. Propose short and long-term assurance and advisory planning, resource requirements and allocation corresponding to risk maps, assurance priorities, and emerging risks. Recruit diversified talents, when needed, that meet the competencies and skills established for the respective roles.
- Act as a manager and supervisor of 8 - 10 audit team members. Maintain effective communication with staff, including regular team meetings, regular coaching and support, giving of feedback, and debriefing on lessons learned after each engagement. Ensure adequate and effective performance management supported by concrete development plans and supporting future growth opportunities. Support the development and career aspirations of their regional team to enable the building of a talent pipeline for the business.
- Support Novartis IA projects / initiatives when needed. Support Global Security with specific Speak Up cases that require IA expertise.

**Minimum requirements**
**What you’ll bring to the role**
- Formal and/or informal leadership experience in previous roles.
- 10+ years of relevant business, audit, finance, and/or ERC experience
- Business acumen in commercial and compliance functions understanding company strategy and main risks
- Experience working in a matrix organization and building close relationships with 2nd line assurance /risk functions
- Extensive knowledge of risk management, governance, and compliance. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to recruit and develop an audit team with proper skills and competencies to support IA’s vision.
